1^st Class Staff

Anita Barron is the Owner/Director of 1^st Class Preschools and 1^st Class After Class. Anita’s career began in business and financial planning working as an advisor in two major banks and then assisting oil and gas employees on corporate transfers. She continues to hold designations in lending, investing and financial planning but after having 3 children she returned to school into Early Childhood Education completing her program with honors.

Anita was so committed to seeing children develop and thrive in nurturing environments she opened her first preschool location in 2012. She continued with preschools for the early years of 1^st Class and moved into out of school care as the children who started in her preschools began attending school and the families looked for quality childcare in the community. The relationships built with the families were then and continue to be today the driving force in 1^st Class’s expansions. 1^st Class Preschool is now offered in the communities of New Brighton and Heritage Pointe and 1^st Class After Class (out of school care) is offered in New Brighton School, New Brighton Clubhouse, Fish Creek School, Ron Southern School, Divine Mercy School, St. William School, St. Albert the Great School and Heritage Pointe.

Anita continues to be present and involved in every aspect of the 1^st Class locations and is very proud of the incredible men and women who have shown a passion for her vision and round out the 1^st Class family today!

Ms. Tara is the Director of Operations for 1^st Class After Class and 1^st Class Preschool. Tara’s career started in Management before she opened a private child care dayhome when her two children were born. She owned and operated for 7 years but with her love of teaching, planning and caring for children she joined the 1^st Class After Class team at it’s inception.

Tara is an integral part of the daily operations of 1^st Class but when she isn't facilitating the program’s operations, you can find Tara outdoors, coaching her children's numerous sport's, in the kitchen cooking for family and friends, and most likely camping and fishing!

Ms. Morufat is the Director, HR Compliance & Business Development for 1^st Class Childcare & Preschools. Morufat holds the highest level in Early childhood Education (Child Development Supervisor) and in addition to this, she also has a Level 2 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, BSc in Chemical/Polymer Engineering, and Master of Science in Safety Health and Environment. Before finding a passion in working with young minds, Morufat worked in oil/gas and transportation industry. Her passion led her to 1st Class, and she has been with 1^st Class After Class since its inception!

Morufat works closely with other members of management to ensure the delivery of our programs, attaining and exceeding Quality Standards, risk management, HR management and compliance, coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new businesses. When Morufat isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, seeking more knowledge and watching movies.
