We will provide a safe, stimulating atmosphere where children will have opportunities to explore and discover the world around us, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop strong confidence and essential life skills. Our rotating schedule of games, crafts, homework support, and physical activities will ensure that every child is active, engaged and involved.

Our Story

1st Class’s inception was as a preschool in 2012 in the community of New Brighton. As 1st Class Preschool grew so did the relationships with our families and our commitment to not only have our families return for the second, third or fourth child for preschool but to offer exceptional child care in the communities we had come to love so much. When New Brighton School was complete, 1st Class After Class was born with its first two locations in the same community. Our Heritage Pointe location was added for preschool in 2015 and the outstanding quality of education and care for the children brought out of school care programs in Fish Creek School, Ron Southern School, St. William School, Divine Mercy School, St. Albert the Great School and Heritage Pointe, St. Marguerite, St. Isabella, Sibylla Kiddle, & Rotary Challenger Park.

1st Class Preschools and 1st Class After Class are fully licensed programs with Alberta Child Care and locations eligible have become Accredited as well.

Our learning environment is play -based, which supports our children to discover new concepts, uncover hidden mysteries and imagine new possibilities, all while allowing them to learn at their own pace. We provide an environment that enables children to develop the confidence to tackle problems, overcome obstacles and succeed. We use information about typical development within a specific age span to plan a learning environment and experiences which responds to individual differences while responding to the social and cultural context the children live in.

To create a fun, innovative, creative and safe environment to develop the “whole child", intellectually, socially, cognitively and physically. We will engage children to learn through play, exploring, experimenting and investigating the world around them. Providing them with a sense of security, belonging and self, while being a part of a community of caring and respecting others. Your child will benefit from our age appropriate, professional and well thought out curriculums, designed to establish a strong skill base and love of learning.
