New Brighton Clubhouse

The New Brighton Clubhouse is the community hub for the New Brighton Community in Calgary, which is located in the New Brighton neighbourhood. 1st Class After Class – New Brighton Clubhouse serve all the families of the Auburn Bay, New Brighton Community and have children from the New Brighton School, St. Marguerite School, Dr. Martha Cohen School and FFCA. This location offers a Before and After School program and Kindergarten program.
At 1st Class After Class – New Brighton Clubhouse, we believe it is our mission to make every child feel happy, safe and free to explore and learn, which we achieve through a programming designed specifically to meet the needs of each child, we provide tons of opportunities to engage in STEM, play, physical activities, literacy, clubs, and more. Our Kindergarten program offers programming that is designed to complement what they are learning in their classroom while still Playing, Growing, Learning & Having fun with weekly themes based on their interests.
Group Play
It is a time for story and language development, music and movement activities, and other varied learning experiences.
Dramatic Play
Our programs all have a pretend and learn area devoted to developing a child’s sense of “make believe”.
Before & After Grade 1-6
Our before and after-care programs go well beyond homework help. We support children in becoming the kindest, most capable, and most resilient version of themselves.
Activities
With regular outdoor time and planned indoor activities, our children experience a world of movement, dance and recreation.
Reading
Books allow children to enter a world of “make believe” and learn about new and exciting things.
Kindergarten Care
Our programs use a curriculum that is individualized to every age, with planned activities that combine learning and fun to create happy, curious kids.
Maddy Marchildon
Assistant Director
Ms. Maddy is the Assistant Director at the New Brighton Clubhouse. Maddy has worked in the Childcare industry for the past 4 years and graduated from Bow Valley College in 2020 with an Early Childhood Education and Development Diploma, attainting the highest level of qualification in the field.
Maddy says "I absolutely love to watch the children grow and learn, plan activities based on what their current interests are, and spend lots of time outside adventuring with them! In my free time you can find me painting, reading, or spending my time outside enjoying nature".
Holly Poley
Lead Preschool Teacher
Ms. Holly is both morning and afternoon teacher for the 3 and 4-year-old Programs. She brings over 25 years experience in Early Childhood Development and a program that reflects her expertise. Ms. Holly has a talent for recognizing and fostering the children's natural abilities and helping them to overcome their challenges. She inspires children through her creativity and adapts her programs, learning experiences and activities to suit the needs of each child in her class.
She keeps the children motivated and interested in topics with her innovative ideas and a clear understanding for how children learn. When Ms. Holly is not in the preschool program providing the children with a quality program rich in experiences and opportunities, she loves to spend quality time with her family, gardening, baking and loves to travel.
