Holly Norem

Executive Director, New Program Development

Holly is our Executive Director of New Program Development and is responsible for working with the management team from the planning process of new centres/programs, set-up, opening and initial program support. You will also find her supporting at all 1st Class locations, ensuring programs are running efficiently and maintaining quality standards.

Holly has been with 1st Class Childcare since 2015 as a preschool teacher and director before moving into her current role. Holly holds the highest level of qualification in Early Childhood Education and Development. When Holly isn't working she loves to spend time with her family and 2 dogs, playing games, watching movies, camping, hiking and enjoying the outdoors.


Sonia Smith

Executive Director, Out of School Care Programs Support

Sonia is responsible for supporting all 1st Class Out of School care programs with strategies, training and resources on working with children who need extra support. Sonia is a very passionate early childhood educator with 20 plus years experience in nurturing young minds and has been with 1st Class since its inception, starting out as preschool teacher, program director and now fulfilling her passion of supporting 1st Class staff, children and their families.

Sonia holds the highest level of qualification in Early Childhood Education and Development and believes in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for children. Sonia says "when I am not working with children you can find me exploring new teaching techniques and staying updated with the latest research in child development and behaviors. I'm excited to continue making a positive impact on the future of our future leaders. In my spare time I like to spend quality family time with my husband and 2 boys . We love camping, hiking , bike riding and all things outside".


Janis Coughlan

Regional Director

Ms. Janis is the Regional Director for our Divine Mercy School, St.Isabella School and Mahogany School programs. As a Regional Director, Janis will coordinate and provide support, resources, supervision and leadership to support directors, staff, children and their families.

Janis says "I have worked in Recreation and After School Care for 20 years. I am a proud Mom of 2 teenage boys that keep me busy with Hockey. As a family we enjoy spending time camping with friends".


Crystal Meaney

Regional Director

Ms. Crystal is the Regional Director for our Seton, 130th and Rotary Park childcare locations. Crystal has been with 1st Class since 2018 and as a Regional Director, her role is to coordinate, provide support, resources, supervision and leadership to support directors, staff, children and their families. She is originally from Newfoundland and have been living in Alberta for almost 20 years with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Ms Crystal says "I have been in the childcare field since 2001 and I truly enjoy learning and growing alongside the children in my care every day!!! I have been lucky enough to care for my own children over the years, so the childcare field has been amazing to me and my family. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outside exploring with family and friends, camping, paddle boarding, hiking, and gardening".


Sabrina Chimiuk

Regional Director

Ms. Sabrina is the Regional Director for our Ron Southern School, Fish Creek School and Somerset School Programs. As a Regional Director, her role is to coordinate, provide support, resources, supervision and leadership to support directors, staff, children and their families. She started in the Early Childhood Education and Development field right after graduating from Mount Royal University with my diploma in 2006.

Sabrina says "I have had different roles so far in my journey as an Educator which includes Facilitator, Preschool Teacher, and Program Director. My passion is working with children and building relationships with teams and with families to enrich the lives of children, as well as helping foster a positive environment for children to learn and play. When I am not working, you can find me on the golf course or with my family".


Amanda Leveque

Regional Director

Ms. Amanda is is the Regional Director for our St. Marguerite School, St William School and St. Albert the Great School Programs. As a Regional Director, her role is to coordinate, provide support, resources, supervision and leadership to support directors, staff, children and their families. Amanda is a mom to two kids and two fur babies, she was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, moved to Calgary with her family in 2013 and graduated with her Early Childhood Education and Development Diploma in 2010.

Ms. Amanda says "I am very passionate about my work with children. I am grateful to be able to spend my days doing what I love: being a part of children's lives while learning from them and growing with them". In her spare time, Ms. Amanda enjoys caring for her many indoor house plants, family movie nights, reading a good book, camping, being active and watching her daughter play lacrosse.


Chantelle Phillips

Regional Director

Ms. Chantelle is the Regional Director for our New Brighton School, New Brighton Clubhouse and Sibylla Kiddle School programs. Her Role is to coordinate, provide support, resources, supervision and leadership to support directors, staff, children and families of these programs. Chantelle has been working in the Early Childhood Education field for six years. She is currently in school, working towards her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Development.

Chantelle says "I love that I get to spend my days filled with the joys that all children provide me. In my spare time I love to be outside as much as possible. I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and friends".
