1st Class After Class - New Brighton School is located in the New Brighton elementary school Calgary, it is located right next the New Brighton Clubhouse. We run out of the school gymnasium and serve all families of the New Brighton School. This location offers a Before and After School program only. Our Kindergarten program runs at the New Brighton Clubhouse. At 1st Class After Class – New Brighton School we believe that each child is unique in their talent, skills and interests and we are committed to providing an environment that encourages the children to use these talents and skills while discovering new ones.

Our staff dedicates a large part of our programming to Social Development through Art/Craft Experiences, Literacy Activities, clubs, Leadership Programs, professional and well thought out curriculums, designed to establish a strong skill base and love of learning and so much more with our educators who are trained and qualified to provide a superior level of instruction and teaching.

Group Play

It is a time for story and language development, music and movement activities, and other varied learning experiences.

Dramatic Play

Our programs all have a pretend and learn area devoted to developing a child’s sense of “make believe”.

Before & After Grade 1-6

Our before and after-care programs go well beyond homework help. We support children in becoming the kindest, most capable, and most resilient version of themselves.


With regular outdoor time and planned indoor activities, our children experience a world of movement, dance and recreation.


Books allow children to enter a world of “make believe” and learn about new and exciting things.

Kindergarten Care

Our programs use a research based curriculum that is individualized to every age, with planned activities that combine learning and fun to create happy, curious kids.

Kelly Mullarkey

OSC Program Director

Meet Ms. Kelly! She is our Program Director and brings a wealth of knowledge to the New Brighton School team! Ms. Kelly is furthering her career in Early Childhood Education by attending distance learning through GPRC. Ms. Kelly is originally from Irelandand has been with 1st Class in February 2017 and is originally from Ireland! She is mom of two and her love of children started long before she had children of her own, which grew into a passion for the industry and childcare field. When Ms. Kelly isn’t working, you will find her enjoying a family night with her children and husband, she loves baking and her most favorite thing to do in her spare time is horse-riding.

Meera Ebrahim

Assistant Director

Ms. Meera joined our 1st Class team in September 2017 and has brought tons of creativity to the program. She is furthering her career by attending distance learning courses through GPRC. Meera's love of children began in her late teens when she volunteered at the Alberta Children's Hospital in the patient playroom, but Life had other plans and she pursued a career in Esthetics. After having 2 children of her own, Meera realized how much she loved being around children and pursued a career in Early childhood Education.

In her spare time, Meera enjoys spending time with her family, going camping and staying busy with hockey practices and games in the winter.

Amanda Leveque

Assistant Director

Meet Ms. Amanda, She holds the highest level of Early Childhood Education (Child Development Supervisor). Ms. Amanda brings lots of experience into the programs and enjoys learning about all the new fun trends through all the children she interacts with.

When Ms. Amada is not working, her two children keep her busy with their Muay Thai, dance and lacrosse. She loves staying active and camping with her family.
