New Brighton School
A place where amazing things Get Done!
1st Class After Class - New Brighton School is located in the New Brighton elementary school Calgary, it is located right next the New Brighton Clubhouse. We run out of the school gymnasium and serve all families of the New Brighton School. This location offers a Before and After School program only. Our Kindergarten program runs at the New Brighton Clubhouse. At 1st Class After Class – New Brighton School we believe that each child is unique in their talent, skills and interests and we are committed to providing an environment that encourages the children to use these talents and skills while discovering new ones.
Our staff dedicates a large part of our programming to Social Development through Art/Craft Experiences, Literacy Activities, clubs, Leadership Programs, professional and well thought out curriculums, designed to establish a strong skill base and love of learning and so much more with our educators who are trained and qualified to provide a superior level of instruction and teaching.
Group Play
It is a time for story and language development, music and movement activities, and other varied learning experiences.
Dramatic Play
Our programs all have a pretend and learn area devoted to developing a child’s sense of “make believe”.
Before & After Grade 1-6
Our before and after-care programs go well beyond homework help. We support children in becoming the kindest, most capable, and most resilient version of themselves.
Activities
With regular outdoor time and planned indoor activities, our children experience a world of movement, dance and recreation.
Reading
Books allow children to enter a world of “make believe” and learn about new and exciting things.
Kindergarten Care
Our programs use a curriculum that is individualized to every age, with planned activities that combine learning and fun to create happy, curious kids.
Chantelle Phillips

Meet Ms. Chantelle! She has been with 1st Class for almost three years and is a great addition to the program’s leadership team. Ms. Chantelle has been working in the childcare industry for the past four years and says, “I have to say, I love my job and I feel very fortunate to have found a career path that brings me this much joy everyday working with all of the wonderful children each day". Ms. Chantelle is currently in school and working towards achieving the highest level of education in early childhood education.
In her spare time, Ms Chantelle says, "I try to be outside as much as possible! I also really enjoy reading a good book and spending time with my family and friends".
